 “Pushkin’s card”

On 19 October 2021, staff members of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization Zarifullina T. G., Kamayeva T. P. and Salnikova V. A. within the project “Pushkin’s card” held an information-knowledge event on “Life is beautiful, don’t waste it!” for the students of the 10th grade of Bolgar comprehensive school №1. The event was devoted to the prevention of tobacco use, alcoholism, glue-sniffing and drug abuse.
Human health is an invaluable gift of nature. It is easy to destroy health. Risk factors conducive to the development of illnesses include different effects of aggressive environment. The so-called “bad habits” and tendencies that stick to young people have a special place. They become the cause of many ills and troubles.
The most common bad habit of our society is smoking. Unfortunately, a lot of people smoke: men, women, older persons, teenagers and children. Smoking is the cause of many serious diseases. A lot of schoolchildren smoke not because they like it, but because they want to seem older. Not everyone can give up a cigarette in a smoking company but it is harmful even to be around a smoker. You have to breathe poisonous smoke.
The next step “leading down” is alcohol. It is intracellular poison destroying the vital human organs – liver, heart, brain.
The third destructive step down is drug abuse, a plague of our time. It affects all countries of the world threatening all segments of society. The new global scourge of humanity – AIDS – is directly related to drug addiction. Drugs are often called the “white death”. The sooner a man gets used to them, the faster he dies. Drugs totally suck out all his energy.
During the event, kids took part in the conversation on the issue and shared their thoughts how to find ways to combat unhealthy habits. Children actively participated in contests and quizzes, did puzzles and watched a social video “Take good care of yourself”.
