On October 24, 2018 the staff Of the Museum of Bulgarian civilization Zarifullina T. G. and Kamaeva T. P. held an information and educational event “Ancient Bulgarians as the cradle of Islam of the Volga region” for students of the 8th and 9th grades of the Bulgarian special (correctional) boarding school of the 8th kind, teaching pupils with disabilities. Children got acquainted with the complex “Memorial sign in honor of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922” and located in it “the Museum of the Koran”, the history of its creation, the history of Islam in the Volga region. We saw the world’s largest printed Quran, listed in the Guinness book of records. We learned about the history of the Volga Bulgaria, its capital-the ancient city of Bulgarians, about the preserved unique monuments of the XH-XIV centuries, got acquainted with the life of the peoples who inhabited the city. In conclusion, we watched the documentary “Treasures of Tatarstan”. The event was held for the purpose of cultural development of young people, education of love and respect for the history of his native land, a sense of pride and tolerance. The event ended with a tour of the halls of the Koran Museum and the Museum of Bulgarian civilization.
