May 22-27, 2023. The conference in Smolensk.

On May 22-27, the XXII All-Russian Numismatic Conference took place in Smolensk. The conference was held at the Smolensk State Museum-Reserve with the participation of the State Historical Museum, the State Hermitage Museum and the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The conference opening and plenary sessions took place in the Cultural and Exhibition Center named after Tenishev. Breakout sessions were held at the Historical Museum of Smolensk State University.
A joint report by J.G. Muhametshin and I.D. Muhametshin “From the history of the numismatic fund of Bolgar Museum-Reserve” was devoted to the numismatic collection of Bolgar Museum-Reserve. Of particular interest were findings from the Bulgar marketplace where several thousand coins were found.
A cultural program was prepared for the conference participants with a visit to the Art Gallery and “Gnezdovo” Museum. All the speakers were awarded commemorative medals.
