 “Pushkin’s card”

 

On 19 November 2021, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V. N. within the project “Pushkin’s card” held an event on a historical subject “Nobility of Spassky uyezd” for the students of Bolgar comprehensive school №2. The objective of the event was to summarize the idea of everyday life of a nobleman in XIX-XX centuries and to increase awareness of the history of Fatherland.
The exposition of the museum “Nobility of Spassky uyezd” reveals one of the sides of life of this territory connected with a unique social category. Most noble families of the end of XIV and XV centuries were of Turkic origin. Many noblemen had Bolgar roots. In the museum, there are memorial things of common use of famous noble families related to the history of Spassky uyezd of Kazan Governorate and reflecting the epoch of the turn of XIX-XX centuries.
At the museum, schoolchildren became familiar to the biographies of famous noble families: Likhachyov, Molostvov, Musin-Pushkin etc. Kids gained an understanding of life of local nobility. They tried the noblemen’s costumes on and played parlor games of that time. Studying the peculiarities of leisure of nobility of the end of XIX century, children could understand greatness and beauty of that time and take in the spirit of atmosphere where generosity, honesty and exuberance prevailed.
