March 24, 2021. A museum lesson on “Bolgar jewelers are great masters of their work”.

On 24 March 2021, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held a museum lesson on “Bolgar jewelers are great masters of their work” for the students of the 3rd-4th grades of Bolgar comprehensive school №1. The purpose of the lesson was to develop the children’s respect and love to the rich cultural heritage of Tatarstan and to enhance the kids’ knowledge about the history of their native land.
At the lesson in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the students became acquainted with the history of development of jewelry making in the ancient town and knew about different ways of work of Bolgar masters-jewelers. Children saw a rich archaeological collection of unique jewelry found during the study of Bolgar and a wide variety of jewelers’ working tools, knew how to use them. Kids heard ancient legends connected with Bolgar jewels and products, with great interest participated in competitions and actively did puzzles with the images of Bolgar jewelry. At the end, they received the maps of ancient Bolgar for memory.
