8 September 2020. An event on “Young people are for a world without terrorism”.

On 8 September 2020, a round table on the topic “Young people are for a world without terrorism” was held in Bolgar Museum-Reserve. Staff members of the department “Museum Street” Sagirova G. and Alekseyeva T. organized it for teenagers and young people of Spassky municipal district of RT. The activity was focused on prevention of ideology of terrorism and extremism among young people.
During the event, participants became acquainted with the history of appearance of terrorism, which goes back deep into the past since the 1st century AD. First terrorist acts originated in ancient Judea and on the territory of modern Iran. The guests knew what terrorism means and into which categories it is divided. They also learned about terrorist acts, which took place not only in our country but also all over the world in different years. To consolidate the material teenagers answered questions and had a training game “We are a bit alike”. Tasks aimed to develop the skills of expression of willpower and decision-making. Deputy Chief of Police in Spassky district Boryushkin A. S. was present at the event. He informed what manifestations of terrorism every citizen of our country can be faced with to form in young people a negative attitude towards manifestations of extremism. During the discussion, Boryushkin A. S. told that international terrorism and extremism is a geopolitical problem today. Extremist and terrorist organizations involve young people and actively use them in their political interests. In terms of being member of extremist organizations, the most dangerous is the age between 14 and 22.
Boryushkin A. S. conducted training to combat extremism aiming at eliminating situations of national hatred and promoting tolerance. He also said that it is necessary to broaden students’ horizons about extremism to learn to live together in peace and understand that any manifestations of extremism lead to responsibility.
At the end of the event, the guests received memo “No to extremism!” in which all possible kinds of protection from extremism were listed.
