Bolgar Museum-Reserve opened the UNESCO webinar series on volunteering at World Heritage sites.

Bolgar Museum-Reserve presented the results of an international camp in UNESCO webinar devoted to volunteering at World Heritage sites in Europe. Representatives of organizations such as European volunteers of heritage, Fund “Classic Weimar” and Committee of Saxony on World Heritage also spoke at the online event.
The UNESCO webinar series seek to support organizers of World Heritage volunteer projects, which were postponed to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Heritage sites of Africa, Asia and Latin America will be presented in the next webinars.
Bolgar Museum-Reserve joined the Initiative of UNESCO “World Heritage Volunteers” in 2017. During three years over 70 young people from 20 countries of the world took part in UNESCO international volunteer camp in Bolgar. Volunteers work on archaeological excavations on the territory of Bolgar historical and archaeological complex and engage in digitizing of museum collections of the museum-reserve.
