May 19, 2019 employee of the Department of excursions BGIAMZ Glavnova V. N. information and educational event “Volga-mother river” dedicated to the Day of the Volga river was held for students of the 6th grade of the BULGARIAN sanatorium boarding school. The purpose of the event – to reveal the beauty of the Volga river and the nature of the region; to promote the relationship between man and nature through respect for the river; to draw attention to the problems associated with the ecology of the region and the Volga river.
There are many majestic and full-flowing rivers in our country. Each of them is beautiful in its own way and since ancient times plays the role of a folk nurse. But only one “waterway” stands out from the network of Russian rivers – the Volga-mother. It can be called not only a storehouse of life, but also a source of inspiration for creative people. As a sign of sincere respect for the river in 2008 was established a special holiday on may 20 – the day of the Volga.
During the event, students got an idea of the great river Volga, met with major cities on the banks of the river, peoples and their customs. Children learned the names of the great generals, singers, artists, musicians, poets, politicians associated with the Volga; heard about the fabulous wealth of the Volga basin and the forest, the abundance of fish, wild animals and birds, obese black earth, minerals and picturesque places. There was a quiz called “The whole truth about the Volga”, read the sayings and Proverbs about the river. The children made paper boats and wrote their wishes on them.
