The children got acquainted with the history of the day of nature reserves and national parks. This event took place on January 11, 1997, and since then “day of reserves and national parks” is celebrated annually. We learned that the first Russian reserve called “Barguzinsky” was opened on this calendar day in 1916, in the then Tsarist Russia. The purpose of the reserve is to protect and increase the number of Barguzin sable and other animals on lake Baikal. Our country has about one hundred reserves, the area of which exceeds thirty-three million hectares, which is comparable in area with 1.58% of the entire territory of Russia. Also, our vast homeland has thirty-five national parks, the area of which is seven million hectares. All the above-mentioned protected areas help to preserve about 80% of our country’s wealth in animal and vegetable terms. The attention of students was presented a small colorful video “Barguzin reserve”, and then the guys enthusiastically solved the ecological crossword puzzle and the first three students who solved it, received as a gift wall calendars, and all the other small pocket calendars with the symbols of the Bulgarian state historical and architectural Museum-reserve. The event ended with a tour through the halls of the Museum of the Koran in the Memorial sign of the Museum of Bolgar civilization and the bright pictures on the memory.
