On July 16, a researcher at the department “Museum of Bulgarian Civilization” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve S. V. Krivosheyeva conducted an interactive session titled “Secrets of Ancient Bolgar” for guests from Kazan.
The visitors took a tour of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, learning about the history, secrets and legends of the ancient city. They learned about Peter I and Catherine II’s visit to ancient Bolgar, the story of the Bulgar boots, the weapon called “chesnok,” the concept of “horos”, and their purpose. The guests also listened with great interest to legends about the Black Chamber, the Sahabs, and Lake Rabiga. The tourists were presented with slides depicting the preserved architectural monuments from the 13th and 14th centuries.
