On July 11, F. M. Safin, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Tourism at the Kazan State Institute of Culture, a member of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the seventh convocation, visited the Suvar City History Museum.
The professor is actively involved in the preservation and development of cultural heritage sites, developing projects for their revival. His activities contribute to the popularization of history and the promotion of interest in the monuments of the past.
N. M. Sadrieva, head of the local history department, greeted the guest. She gave him a tour of the museum, telling him about the history of Suvar, which was once a major center of artisanship and trade, and about the museum’s operations.
During the visit, N.M. Sadrieva also showed the guest the Suvar settlement. Safin F.M. examined the preserved defensive ramparts and ditches, as well as the site of a unique palace from the pre-Mongol period. Archaeologist A.P. Smirnov explored its foundation in the 1930s.
The guest of honor praised what he saw, noting the skill of the ancient Suvar architects. At the end of the visit, he emphasized that the museum staff is doing an important and worthy job in preserving and promoting the historical heritage of the region.
