On June 4, the staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve held the children’s and youth festival “Museum Sabantuy” for 250 children and teenagers from educational institutions in Bolgar and the Spassky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The program of the festival was very diverse. Traditional Tatar games and contests were held at the “Maidan” site: running with a yoke, running in sacks, “tyanuchka”, wrestling on babuks, running in giant bast shoes, and others. At the “City of Masters” site, masters-artists held master classes in pottery, basket weaving, and painting souvenirs.
Traditionally, the holiday ended with a tea party with Tatar treats.
