On June 5, an employee of the museum and educational activities department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L.I. held an information and educational event “Our home is planet Earth” for 23 children attending the school camp at Bolgar secondary school No. 1, which was dedicated to World Environment Day.
The children learned about World Environment Day, which was established by the United Nations in 1972 and is marked annually on June 5. On the same day, Russian environmentalists celebrate their professional holiday.
During the event, children were presented with a colorful presentation called “The Red Book of the World,” which taught them about rare and endangered animals and plants.
The event also addressed global issues that lead to environmental destruction and pollution. Children were educated about environmental conservation and proper behavior in nature.
At the end of the event, the participants created colorful drawings of animals listed in the Red Book.
