On May 12, a researcher at the Bolgar Museum-Reserve O.P. Osintseva held the event “Family Values” dedicated to the International Day of the Family for students of grades 1-5 of Nikolskaya secondary school. The event was organized in collaboration with the staff of the Nikolskaya Rural Library.
During the meeting, the children learned about the history of the holiday and discovered the various sciences that help to study families. In the future, the students will be responsible for creating their own family trees. As part of the event, children learned about the stages of working on a family tree, and about websites where they can find information about participants in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, such as “Memory of the People,” “Immortal Regiment,” and “Memorial of the Great Patriotic War.” They also saw books and websites where they can create their own family tree.
Librarian Silyutina R.A. organized an exhibition of books dedicated to the topic of family, as well as works in which information about relatives and friends can be found – “Encyclopedia of the city of Bolgar and the Spassky district”, “Memory”, “They returned with a Victory”, “Spassky tales” and many others.
During the event, the children solved riddles, remembered sayings and proverbs about the family. In the end, they completed the phrase “My family is the best because…”, and the answers were completely different, but at the same time very interesting.
