On May 8, a methodologist of the “Museum Street” department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. Sh. held the event “Architectural masterpieces of Islam” for children visiting the Bolgar city mosque.
The children learned about the rich cultural heritage, including the study of mosques, minarets and palaces, using the example of the White Mosque, the Cathedral Mosque in Bolgar (a 14th-century monument), and the Kol-Sharif Mosque in Kazan. The children learned about the principles of constructing complex ornaments based on geometric patterns (arabesques), and the role of architecture in the daily lives of Muslims.
