On April 28, employees of the department of museum and educational activities at the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L.I. and Bitunova Yu. A held an interactive and educational event “Gabdulla Tukay: Memory and Poetry” for students of the 1st grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school, devoted to the 140th anniversary of the poet’s birth.
The students learned that Gabdulla Tukay was born on April 26, 1886, in the village of Kushlauch, Kazan Province, in the family of a simple parish mullah. Gabdulla Tukay was a great Tatar poet who lived for only 26 years, but became the founder of national literature. During his 8 years of creative work, he wrote hundreds of poems, created the epic “Shurale,” and became the “Tatar Pushkin” whose “Mother Tongue” is an unofficial anthem of the people.
The students were very interested in the exhibition “Gabdulla Tukay. Life and Creativity”. The exhibition allowed them to get to know his biography in more depth, learn about the key stages of his creative path and see how his works have influenced the culture and self-awareness of the people. Special attention was paid to the fairy tales of G. Tukay, which are loved by many generations. The children enjoyed watching the colorful adaptations of the works “Shurale” and “Vodyanaya” and collected puzzles depicting their favorite characters. Each participant received a gift.
