On April 27, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve summed up the results of the All-Russian Competition of Readers “Tukayly Bolgar!” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. In order to preserve and develop the native languages, culture, and traditions of the peoples, from March 11 to April 25, 2026, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve held the All-Russian Competition of Readers “Tukayly Bolgar!” remotely. The competition was attended by 2,067 students from 674 educational institutions in 34 regions of Russia. The head of the “Museum Street” department G. Yu. Sagirova moderated the competition.
The participants submitted their creative works in the form of videos and audio recordings for the competition. The submitted works were distinguished by their originality, variety of themes, novelty, and creative approach. The students enjoyed reading the works and poems. They were able to feel and understand how much Tukay’s works were imbued with love for the homeland, faith in people, and their spiritual strength.
One of the most exciting moments of the competition was the announcement of the winner of the Grand Prix. This year, the award was given to Fasihova Venera, a 10th-grade student from Lyceum No. 149 with a Tatar language of instruction in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan. Her creative work, imagery, depth of thought, and attitude towards language were particularly highly praised by the jury. This victory is not only a success for the individual author, but also a testament to the serious and responsible attitude of the younger generation towards Tatar literature.
