On April 24, 15 students from the 8th grade of Bolgar secondary school No. 2 visited two ancient villages in the Spassky uyezd of the Kazan Province: Tri Ozera and Polyanki, as part of the lesson “My Region in the History of the Fatherland”.
A researcher at the department of tour organizing of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Musina G.M. introduced them to the history of the local nobility, including the famous aristocratic families of the Likhachyovs and the Molostvovs. The students learned about the historical events and famous people of the region during the tour. They also had the opportunity to witness the two architectural styles of classicism and baroque, which have been preserved in the history of two churches.
The students who attend the “School of Young Tour Guides” club also had the opportunity to try their hand at being tour guides. The girls told about the history of the ancient churches, their construction and their future.
In the village of Tri Ozera of Spassky district of Tatarstan, there is a functioning Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God built in the middle of XVIII century at the expense of the landowners Molostvov. This is a brick three-altar church, an architectural monument, known for its miraculous Tihvin icon of the Mother of God.
The three-apse brick Church of the Intercession, with a side chapel dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, was built in 1778 in the village of Polyanki at the expense of the landowner Login Ivanovich Likhachyov, the ancestor of the famous scientist, archaeologist, numismatist, and historian Andrey Fedorovich Likhachyov.
