On April 24, a methodologist of the “Museum Street” department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve L. Sh. Sagirova held the event “Journey to the world of Tukay” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet G. Tukay for 32 children of the “Antoshka” kindergarten.
The event began with a story about the life of Gabdulla Tukay, his difficult childhood, and his immense contribution to Tatar culture. A presentation titled “Tukay’s life and work” was demonstrated. Kids enjoyed participating in a poetry session where they recited Tukay’s poems in both Tatar and Russian including “Mother Tongue,” “To Work,” and “Child and Butterfly.”
A competition was held between the teams “Shurale” and “Su Anasy,” and of course, friendship prevailed. The participants solved riddles based on Tukay’s works, and prepared a performance of the poem “Child and Butterfly” and excerpts from the fairy tales “Shurale” and “Goat and Ram.”
The event ended with a group photo and an exhibition of books titled “Reading and knowing G. Tukay.”
