On April 18, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L.I. held the event “On the roads of history” for 10 students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, dedicated to the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites.
The participants learned that the holiday has been celebrated since April 18, 1984. The motto of the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites is “Let’s Preserve Our Historical Homeland.”
The children watched a colorful presentation, from which they learned about the ancient city of Bolgar, its fortifications, trade relations, crafts and architectural monuments. The participants drew pictures and completed puzzles depicting architectural monuments, and they heard colorful legends and myths related to the history of their native land.
