On April 17, a methodologist of the department of tour organizing of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V.N. held an information and educational event “Monuments of Bolgar are witnesses of ancient civilization” for 12 schoolchildren from Lugansk, dedicated to the International Day for the Protection of Monuments and Historical Sites.
At the event, the students visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization and learned about the history of the Volga Bulgaria state. They also learned that the Bolgar Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve is the northernmost monument of medieval Muslim architecture in the world, a unique and the only example of Bolgar-Tatar architecture from the mid-13th to the 14th centuries. The students then walked around the ancient city where they saw preserved architectural structures and participated in the game “Build a Monument.” To reinforce their knowledge, the children answered questions of the quiz “Journey to Bolgar.”
