On March 19, 2026, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve hosted the opening of the exhibition “The Red Book and I”, which commemorated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the “Spassky” State Nature Reserve of Regional Significance created on March 23, 2001.
The Spassky Archipelago is a unique nature reserve located in the Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. The archipelago covers an area of 17,979 hectares, including 64 coastal islands located in the shallow waters of the Kuibyshev Reservoir. This unique corner of our land is home to a rich biodiversity including rare species of flora and fauna, as well as unique ecosystems that deserve careful management and protection. The exhibition aims to inspire new initiatives aimed at protecting nature, promoting ecotourism, and raising environmental awareness among children and young people.
Students from Bolgar secondary school No. 1, school No. 2, Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities, sanatorium boarding school, and representatives of the city’s public attended the exhibition.
