On March 27, 2026, employees of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. Sh. and Galimullina N.R. together with the Bolgar secondary school No. 2 for students of the 8th grade held a museum lesson “History of the nobility of Spassky Uyezd” within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children”, and the subprogram “All the best for children”. At the interactive event, the schoolchildren learned about the history of the museum “Nobility of Spassky Uyezd” on the territory of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve, as well as about the most famous noble families of the 19th century who lived in the Spassky uyezd of the Kazan Province. The children also learned about the significant contributions made by these prominent individuals to the education and preservation of the cultural heritage of the ancient city of Bolgar. During the session, special attention was given to the interior and everyday items of the provincial nobility. The young participants were encouraged to explore the purpose of the exhibits and imagine how they might have been used in those distant times.
In conclusion, the students were told how the nobility spent their free time. The noble families were numerous, and they often met at various estates where they enjoyed family meals, conversations, home theaters, and literary salons. Additionally, salon games were popular, involving not only children but also adults. Interestingly, some of these games are still enjoyed today. The young visitors not only learned about the ancient games and their rules, but also had the opportunity to participate in these ancient activities.
16 students participated in the event.
