On March 31, 2026, a researcher of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve I.D. Muhametshin held the event “Golden pages of history” for the students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, which was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Fyodorovich Likhachyov.
Our Spassky district has produced many famous individuals. Ivan Fyodorovich Likhachyov, an outstanding naval commander, participated in the defense of Sevastopol and later successfully distinguished himself in the Far East. In 1863, Ivan Fyodorovich led an armored squadron in the Baltic Sea. Even after his retirement in 1883, he actively shared his service experience with officers, and published articles.
The students visited the museum “Nobility of Spassky uyezd” where they learned about the history of the Likhachyov family. A. F. Likhachyov made significant contributions to the study of his native region’s history. His collection laid the foundation for the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. The audience was very interested in learning about the interesting finds from ancient Bolgar, and at the end of the event, they played the ancient game “Kulbutto”.
