On March 17, 2026, the opening of the temporary exhibition “Bolgar in visual sources. The past and the present” took place in the exhibition hall of the department of sightseeing and information activities of the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Nesvizh”. The exhibition presents drawings, graphic images, photographs of the 19th and 20th centuries. Artists and photographers of the past have created a unique image of the ancient city filled with the spirit of romanticism and awe of the majestic monuments of antiquity.
The exhibition also featured photographs with modern views of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve, captured by the lenses of talented masters of our time who emphasized the grandeur of ancient ruins, the power of nature and the magical intertwining of the past with the present.
Photographs and artworks immerse the viewer in an atmosphere of mystery, awaken a sense of pride in our rich history and cultural heritage. The exhibition becomes a bridge between the past and the future, inviting us to reflect on the continuity of generations and the role of art in preserving historical memory.
This exhibition is included in the action plan “Roadmap” for the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan for 2026.
The exhibition will run until May 31, 2026.
