On February 26, employees of the excursion department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N.R. and Glavnova V.N. held an interactive event “Ancient Bolgar is a wonderful city” for 12 children from the “Kolosok” kindergarten.
During the visit to the museum, the employees told the children about the history of their region and the ancient city of Bolgar. The museum’s exhibition was presented in a simplified format with children answering leading questions. Kids used pre-prepared signs with images of museum items to find similar exhibits in the display cases. The children enjoyed assembling the “Ancient vessels” puzzle. They also competed to build models of the Black Chamber and the Eastern Mausoleum, two notable Bolgar architectural landmarks, using wooden blocks. Additionally, the children visited an archaeological site where they had the opportunity to excavate items from a sand box. The ancient checkers game “The Wolf and the Sheep” aroused great interest.
The event helped the children to plunge into the past, broaden their horizons, feel that period, left a lot of good impressions and, of course, aroused a desire to visit our museum-reserve.
