On February 24, an employee of the department of museum and educational activities at the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L.I. held the event “Mother Tongue is the Soul of the People” for 19 students of the 2nd grade of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, dedicated to the International Mother Tongue Day.
During the event, the students learned that the International Mother Tongue Day is marked worldwide on February 21.
At the event, the children talked about the reasons for the disappearance of languages and the Red Book of the languages of the peoples of Russia. The International Day of the Mother Tongue is primarily aimed at protecting languages that are disappearing.
The children also had a conversation about their native language and Tatar writers. They enjoyed talking about the books they had read and their favorite fairy tales. At the end of the event, the students enthusiastically assembled puzzles depicting their favorite heroes and familiar characters brought to life by the works of A. Alish, G. Tukay and M. Jalil.
