On February 20, the head of the department of museum and educational activities of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve G. K. Hramova held a solemn event of a military-patriotic nature called “Pride and glory of Russia” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Musa Jalil and Defender of the Fatherland Day.
Defender of the Fatherland Day is not just a calendar date, but also a symbol of national unity and patriotism, an expression of deep gratitude to those who have defended and continue to defend the independence and security of our country at different times. On this day, the cadet detachment of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 visited the Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
Musa Jalil (1906-1944) was a poet and journalist who became a war correspondent and an ardent fighter for freedom during the Great Patriotic War. This man was destined to live a short but bright life filled with hardships and difficulties. Musa Jalil’s biography, like his work, is filled with struggle, aspirations, and faith in the bright future of the Russian people.
The students watched the documentary “Musa Jalil. Condemned to Immortality,” which tells the story of the tragic fate and heroic deeds of the anti-fascist Tatar poet. The tape covers the journey from leaving for the front and being captured to underground activities in the Moabit prison where Jalil wrote his famous poems. Then, the children read lines from the poet’s poems written during his captivity, recited the poems “Wounds,” “Barbarism,” and “Tear.”
It is still unknown how many notebooks there were in total. In 1957, M. Jalil was awarded the Lenin Prize for the cycle of poems “The Moabit Notebook”, and in 1956, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). The poet’s life has become a legend, an example of the creative rise of a human personality.
15 people attended the event.
