On February 17, an employee of the museum and educational activities department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Yu. A. Bitunova gave a lecture titled “Madam Maslenitsa” to the students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1.
The children learned about the history and traditions of the Maslenitsa celebration. It is a weeklong festival with round dances, songs and games, marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Maslenitsa is one of the most fun holidays of the year, which is widely celebrated throughout Russia. The students completed various tasks, solved riddles and actively participated in the “Wide Maslenitsa” quiz. At the end of the session, the children received sweet prizes.
