On February 12, an interactive information and educational event “The first ones on the Moon. Space exploration” was held for nine students of the 6th grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school by an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve M.N. Rogachyova in the reading room of the Central Library in Bolgar. This event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first soft landing on the Moon by the Soviet spacecraft Luna-9. The goal was to introduce children to the history of space exploration and the significant contributions of the Soviet Union and Russia to the development of outer space, as well as to foster a sense of patriotism and pride for their country.
The event was conducted in the form of a quiz with a presentation. The students were engaged in a discussion and exploration of the basic concepts of space and its exploration. They actively participated in the conversation, answered questions, and posed their own questions. The library staff member introduced the children to an exhibition of books and magazines. At the end of the event, a surprise was prepared for the participants: an inflatable planetarium where the children watched a film about international space exploration while sitting and lying on the carpet. Everyone was delighted with the planetarium and the film, as if they had been in space themselves. On this day, the students gained new knowledge and had a memorable experience, and the most active participant was awarded a book about space.
