November 23, 2024. A lecture “May there always be Mom!”

On November 23, 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Usmanova D.O. gave a lecture “May there always be Mom!” for four students of Bolgar secondary school № 2.
Officially, the Mother’s Day holiday in Russia has appeared recently. Until 1998, our dear moms had only one holiday – March 8. The initiator of the Mother’s Day holiday was the State Duma Committee on Women, Youth and Family Affairs. Over the years, Mother’s Day has become one of the favorite holidays of Russians, in which not only mothers, but also grandmothers are congratulated. The purpose of the holiday is to support the traditions of careful attitude to women, to strengthen family foundations, to emphasize the importance of mothers in the life of every person.
During the lecture, the children learned about the history of the holiday and the tradition to celebrate it every year on the last Sunday of November. At the end of the lecture, the children watched the cartoon “Mammoth Looking for Mom” and made beads as a gift for their moms. The lecture ended on a positive note, and the children left with a good mood.
