November 21, 2024. An event “Bolgar is the city of masters”.

On November 21, 2024, for eight students of the 5th grade of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M.N. held an event “Bolgar is the city of masters”.
During the event, the schoolchildren visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization and became acquainted with various crafts that were developed in the city of Bolgar: metallurgy, blacksmithing, pottery, construction, bone-cutting, leatherwork and jewelry. The children learned a lot about the history of the development of crafts in ancient Bolgar, about the working tools of artisans, their purpose and application, as well as saw the products of craftsmen. The children took an active part in the proposed tasks: they collected puzzles with the image of the products of Bolgar artisans; they were in the role of archeologists – tried to identify the product, the material from which it was made, what it was used for. All kids successfully coped with the tasks. At the end of the event, the children visited the art workshop of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve and saw how artists make and paint souvenirs, saw products made of vines and a weaving loom. This day the children got acquainted not only with the ancient crafts of Bolgar, but also with modern types of arts and crafts, and received a lot of new impressions and small souvenirs for memory.
