On November 20, 2024, within the framework of the project “Pushkin’s card” the staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve held a field interactive event “Bolgar is the keeper of folk traditions” for the students of Burakovskaya secondary school.
At the theatricalized performance, the students were immersed in the atmosphere of medieval Volga Bulgaria. The sage told the guests about the ancient city of Bolgar and its masters-craftsmen. The history, culture, traditions and customs of the people have always been embodied in the artisans’ products.
The participants of the event were presented master classes on pottery, leather mosaic, wood burning, making runes and Ebru technique. A gastronomic master class was also held for the participants of the event on the preparation of special tea “in Bolgar style”. The children learned how to compose properly a fragrant collection of herbs, flowers and berries.
For fun were presented medieval board games “Alquerque”, “Mill” and a new game “Journey to the past”, through which the children were able to walk the streets of the ancient city, to get acquainted with its artifacts.
