On September 26, 2024, the employees of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization T.G. Zarifullina and T.P. Kamayeva held for 14 students of the 4th grade of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 an informative and entertaining event on ‘Travel with us in the Bolgar region!’ dedicated to the International Day of Tourism.
The event was held in order to promote tourism as an active recreation, to promote a healthy lifestyle, to develop interest in physical education and sports, to strengthen the health of children, to foster love for nature, for the native land. Tourism is one of the most widespread types of active healthy recreation.
World Tourism Day is an international holiday established by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in 1979. It is marked on 27 September. It has been celebrated in Russia since 1983. Traditionally, on 27 September, there are tourist gatherings, festive events and festivals dedicated to the tourism business. There are also professional conferences and award ceremonies for the best employees of the sphere. World Tourism Day even has its own official color – blue. It is repeated in the design of festive events.
On this holiday, it is customary to congratulate employees of the tourism sector: employees of travel companies, museum staff, managers and staff of hotel complexes – all those who professionally provide a comfortable and safe holiday.
The children actively participated in the conversation about the International Tourism Day, the history of its origin and types of tourism. They told how they had a rest on holidays, what interesting cities they saw, what museums and architectural monuments of our museum-reserve they visited. In the entertaining part of the event, the children showed their agility, wit, quickness, marksmanship and skill, participating in fun contests, quizzes and games. Friendship won as always! All participants of the meeting were awarded with sweet prizes.
