On 17-19 September 2024, the staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Ziganshina L.M. and Musina G.M. visited the international tourist exhibition-forum OTDYKH Leisure. The exhibition is the main start of the autumn-winter season of the tourism industry in Russia. It is the only business event of this scale for outbound, inbound and domestic tourism.
OTDYKH Leisure brings together over 10,000 industry professionals: from representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in the tourism sector to the heads of major Russian and foreign companies, as well as executives responsible for the development of individual territories and tourist destinations.
On the first day of the forum-exhibition, the Plenary Session opened the business program ‘The Place of Tourism in the New Calculus: Algorithms of Evolution’. Among the invited guests were Anna Shatilova, a legendary announcer of Soviet and Russian television, Samvel Saruhanyan, General Director of Mriya Resort & Spa and many others. The participants of the flagship session were able to trace how the tourism industry and tourists’ preferences have changed over the years using the examples of real people, as well as to discuss what changes in tourism may await us in the future.
The staff introduced visitors to new travel services and products. They also networked and exchanged experience among tourism industry experts ahead of the autumn and winter tourist season. Offline tourism exhibitions have long been not so much about business contacts and programs, but more about the emotions of meetings with colleagues, informal communication, and the opportunity to share with each other a vision of trends and discuss possible solutions to current challenges.
