On 20 September 2024, the first guests from Elabuga visited the Bolgar Museum Reserve within the framework of the new tourist route ‘In the footsteps of caravans’.
The guests were welcomed at the museum’s interactive site ‘Bolgar tea party’ where they tasted pancakes from the oven and delicious herbal Bolgar tea.
In the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the participants of the tour became acquainted with the extensive history of Volga Bulgaria and the history of the ancient city of Bolgar. In the museum and exhibition complex ‘The Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922’, the guests were shown a unique exposition of printed Korans and the world’s largest printed Koran.
The program on the territory of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve became a bright point at the end of the fascinating tour for its participants and gave an indelible impression for a long time.
