12-13 September 2024. Participation in the International Seminar of Eurasian Cities ‘Historical and cultural heritage and its role in sustainable urban development’.

From 12 to 13 September 2024, the Director of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve R.R. Ziganshin took part in the International Seminar of Eurasian Cities ‘Historical and cultural heritage and its role in sustainable urban development’, which was held in Yaroslavl. The meeting was organized by the Yaroslavl city administration and the International Association ‘United Cities and Local Authorities of Eurasia’ with the support of the government of the Yaroslavl region.
Representatives of local and regional authorities of Eurasia attended the seminar. This event is an opportunity for participants not only to learn about successful practices of Eurasian cities in the field of heritage, but also to keep abreast of modern trends in the field of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage and apply the knowledge gained in practice for the benefit of the residents of their cities.
The workshop included trainings, surveys and discussions. The discussion took place in the following areas: ‘Regulation of historical development and the project of protection zones of the object of cultural heritage’, “Heritage and the new urban environment”, “Creative practices of revitalizing cultural heritage”. R.R. Ziganshin spoke at the round table ‘Heritage and new urban environment’ with a report ‘The potential of historical and cultural heritage and its role in the development of the city of Bolgar’.
R.R. Ziganshin also paid a working visit to the city of Tutaev, familiarized himself with the expositions of the museum-exhibition complex ‘Borisoglebskaya side’ and ‘House of merchant Vagin’, appreciated the grandeur of the Resurrection Cathedral and the beauty of the panorama of the left-bank Romanov opening on the observation deck.
