On 16 April 2024, as part of the “Pushkin’s card” project, the staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve held an interactive event on “Golden pages of the history of Spassky uyezd” for 24 pupils of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
The children learnt about the everyday life of the uyezd town of Spassk in the 18th-19th centuries. Heroes of the theatrical program: Peter I, Catherine II, the Town Mayor and a noblewoman in thematic costumes highlighted the most striking historical events in the life of the uyezd and the town. There were also presented elements of popular ballroom dances of that time, round dance and parlor games: bingo and cards. The children were introduced to various kinds of needlework: wool spinning, weaving, basket weaving. There were master-classes on making dolls-amulets and painting gingerbread with protein glaze. Pupils danced, played and participated in the master classes with great pleasure.
