On 21 January 2023, an employee of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G.I. held an event on “Respect for every religion” timed to the World Religion Day, for the pupils of the 8th grade of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
Religion is a special form of understanding of the world, which is based on belief in the supernatural. It includes moral norms and types of behavior, rituals, cult actions, unites people in communities.
Three monotheistic religions – Christianity, Islam and Judaism – are widespread in the world. Quite a large part of the population professes Buddhism. All confessions are equal before the law, and religion is everyone’s private affair. This situation in modern Russia ensures freedom of religion.
In Europe, the dominant character of public life is becoming as secular as possible, and a number of countries try to avoid the use of religious symbols.
Many religions contribute to the maintenance of peace and harmony in the world. Therefore, to understand the value of different teachings, it is important for people to see how religious leaders of different traditions come together and talk about it from one rostrum.
Ten people attended the event.
