On 25 November 2022, a staff member of the department “Museum Street” of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. Sh in the museum of Abdulla Alish conducted a museum lesson on “Bitter fate of mothers” dedicated to Mother’s Day for the students of Bolgar secondary school № 1.
Every year on the last Sunday of November, Mother’s Day is celebrated in Russia. It was established by decree of Boris Yeltsin in 1998.
During the museum lesson, students learned about the history of the holiday and the invaluable role of mothers in the upbringing and education of a personality. Of course, an invaluable contribution to the upbringing of her children was made by A. Alish’s mother, Gaziza apa. Children enjoyed listening to the stories and fairy tales she made up for her children when they were little. Gaziza apa was a very well-read, inquisitive, educated woman for her time. She was very good-natured, fair, hard-working, and she passed these qualities on to her children.
When Abdulla went to the front, Gaziza apa wrote him letters, and there were poems in them. At the lesson, children listened to the letters and poems, discussed the content of the letters and made an analysis of the poems. Fourteen schoolchildren took part in the event.
