On 15 November 2022, a staff member of the Excursion Department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve V. N. Glavnova held a lecture “Tatarstan is my beloved land” for the children of Bolgar kindergarten “Kolosok”.
Tatarstan is located at the confluence of two major rivers – the Volga and Kama and serves as a kind of bridge between European and Asian parts of Russia. Tatarstan is larger than such European countries as Belgium and the Netherlands, and is roughly equal to Ireland.
Tatarstan is a multinational republic. The citizens of Tatarstan live peacefully, in friendship and respect for the customs of other nations. The main part of the inhabitants of Tatarstan are Tatars and Russians. There are also Udmurts, Chuvashes, Bashkirs, Mari, Mordva and other nationalities. Each nation has its own native language. Native language is the language once spoken by your great grandparents, and now grandparents, mothers and fathers speak it. All people should know their native language, speak it, read books and sing songs in it.
Our region is a part of a big and beautiful country. Taking care of your native land is taking care of your homeland. During the event, children got knowledge about their native land, watched a presentation, learned the history of the main symbols of the Republic, became acquainted with the geographical map of Tatarstan and the works of writers and poets, with interest listened to the legends and facts from the history of the region.
At the end, children themselves recited poems about the homeland, actively answered quiz questions, took part in the game and assembled the flag of the Republic of Tatarstan from colored paper.
