“Pushkin’s card”. November 25, 2021. An interactive event on “Meeting with the past”.

 “Pushkin’s card”

On 25 November 2021, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Abdrakhmanova A. R. together with staff members of the exposition and exhibition department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Paramonycheva T. N. and Abdrakhmanova S. S. held an event with a master class in painting of souvenirs “Meeting with the past”. The event was conducted within the project “Pushkin’s card” for the students of the 8th and 9th grades of Nikolskaya comprehensive school of Spassky municipal district of RT.
During the event, schoolchildren visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization where they became familiar with the history of emergence and development of medieval states such as Volga Bulgaria and the Golden Horde. On the example of museum articles, kids knew about crafts in which masters in Ancient Bolgar were engaged. Children saw the biggest printed Koran in the world in the Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922 and, of course, became acquainted with ancient architectural monuments of XIII-XIV centuries in the territory of Bolgar town.
In the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the participants of the event had a fascinating master class in painting of souvenirs during which masters-artists told how a souvenir is produced in a craft shop, about the stages of work with a souvenir, what material and paints are used for making it. Kids learned that the tradition of giving souvenirs appeared a long time ago and turned into a modern tradition to give each other small gifts-souvenirs as a memento. Masters held for children a bright memorable master class in art painting of a souvenir-charm. Each participant received the souvenir painted with his hands as a present in memory of Bolgar.
