On 22 November 2021, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V. N. held a lecture on “My small homeland – the Republic of Tatarstan” for the students of the 2nd and 3rd grades of Bolgar comprehensive school №2.
In any country of the world, a person has his own little place – a town, a street, home where he was born. It is his small Homeland. Our homeland is the Republic of Tatarstan. On the world map, it takes not so much place but it does not concede many European countries in its natural richness and beauty of the landscape. Currently, Tatarstan becomes a developed industrial and cultural centre. It occupies an area of 68,000 square kilometers. Natural resources are oil, gas, peat, limestone. Four largest rivers flow through the republic – Volga, Kama, Belaya and Vyatka. Tatarstan is rich in fertile soil, forests and rivers.
More than 4 million people of different nationalities live in the republic: Tatars, Russians, Chuvashes, Ukrainians, Mari, Udmurts, Bashkirs and others. The residents of Tatarstan live in peace, friendship and respect for the customs of other peoples.
During the lecture, schoolchildren knew about the history of the Republic and its symbols. They remembered Russian and Tatar proverbs glorifying love for the homeland. Kids played folk games with pleasure and painted stencils with national costumes of peoples living in the territory of Tatarstan.
