On 7-9 October 2021, the second All-Russia historical-archaeological forum “Rus – Europe – Black Sea Coast – Byzantium” took place in Sudak. It was devoted to the 75th anniversary of the birth of a historian and archaeologist I. A. Baranov. Actual problems of East Europe as a whole and the Black Sea Coast in particular were discussed at the forum. A report of I. D. Muhametshin “Historical-cultural links of Crimea and Bolgar in XIII-XIV centuries according to the materials of archaeology and numismatics” was about commercial and economic ties of Crimea and Bolgar. The funds of Bolgar Museum-Reserve contain rich material demonstrating economic relations of cities and regions of the Golden Horde. Many finds can be attributed to the production of workshops of Southeast Crimea, the cities of Solhat, Kaffa and Soldaiya. Glazed ceramics from the Caucasus, Crimea and Byzantium were the subject of active trade. Coins of Crimea were rare and probably arrived with merchants. During the forum, interesting topics about archaeology of Crimea were raised. It highlighted the important role of the region in the history of Europe.
