On 1 June 2021, in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization opened an exhibit “Made in USSR. Soviet childhood” devoted to International Children’s Day and preservation of world peace. The first International Children’s Day was held in 1950. After that, the holiday has been an annual event.
The exhibition covers the period from the end of 1950s to the beginning of 1990s. It includes items from the funds of Bolgar Museum-Reserve: pennants, badges “Little Octobrist”, “Pioneer”, “All-Union Lenin Communist Youth Union”, pioneer’s tie, household items and tableware. The exposition makes a visitor plunge into a whole era. The Soviet Union contributed immensely to the development of humankind, and our exhibition tells about the items of everyday life, which became symbols of the Soviet era.
Opening of the exhibition was attended by schoolchildren from Ulyanovsk. Kids made a journey in 60s, 70s and 80s of XX century. By means of the exhibits presented, it is easy to understand the life of a huge multicultural country with the proud name “Union of Soviet Socialist Republics”.
The exhibition will last until 5 July 2021.
