On 23 September 2020, the head of museum and education department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve R. Z. Vagapov held an online tour “Crafts of Volga Bulgaria”.
During the excursion, the audience was briefly introduced to the history of the state formation of Volga Bulgars, political and economic situation in the medieval world. An important source of economic and social development of Bolgar state was handicraft production, which flourished in XII-XIII centuries. The audience knew about the most important crafts of Volga Bulgars: glass making, leather and bone carving craft, bronze casting, copper work, blacksmithing, jewelry and pottery.
