On 21 September 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirzyanova L. I. held an information and knowledge event on “We have one sky above our heads” devoted to the International Day of Peace.
For the vast majority of the planet’s inhabitants, peace is a daily reality. Our streets are quiet. Our children go to school. Nobody really notice a precious gift of peace where the foundations of society are strong. However, for too many people today this gift is no more than a fairy-tale dream. They live in chains, in the atmosphere of fear and instability. This day exists mainly for these people. In 1982, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed in its resolution the International Day of Peace as a general cease-fire day and non-violence. Since then, the holiday celebrated on 21 September every year involved millions of people covering many countries and regions. It aims to make people not just think about peace but also do something for it.
During the event, the guests became acquainted with the history of emergence of the International Day of Peace and knew how people celebrate this day in different countries.
