Science in the Muslim East developed on the basis of rich local traditions and achievements of other peoples. The cities of the Muslim East turned into scientific centers. Established in their kind of scientific academies, such as the” house of science “(“Dar al-ILM”),” Treasury of wisdom “(“khizanat al-Hikma”) in Bukhara, attracted scientists from different parts of the Muslim world. The strong relations of Volga Bulgaria with these regions laid the Foundation for close contacts in the field of science and culture. Bulgarian scientists, returning home after studying in the scientific and cultural centers of the East, wrote their works on the example of the works of their Eastern teachers, made comments on their works, spread their scientific ideas in their state. Versatility, encyclopedic knowledge of medieval Eastern alims was peculiar to scientists of the Volga Bulgaria.
In the Museum of Bulgarian civilization the children got acquainted with the rich history of Volga Bulgaria, learned about the development of writing, education and science. During the event, the issue of development of fiction and poetic folk art in Volga Bulgaria was also touched upon. The best work of the period was the Kul Gali poem “Kyssa and Yusuf” (“Tale of Yusuf”). In the Museum the children saw a list of this poem, as well as a monument to the poet Kul Gali. The event ended with a walk through the architectural monuments of the Bulgarian settlement and a photo shoot.
