August 10, 2019 in the Bulgarian Museum-reserve for the sixth time started the international festival of medieval battle “great Bulgarian”. This year the festival welcomes athletes from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan.

At the opening of the festival, the audience was greeted by the Head of the Spassky municipal district of Tatarstan Kamil Nugaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Executive Director of the non-profit organization “Republican Fund for the revival of monuments of history and culture of the Republic of Tatarstan” Tatyana Larionova, Deputy  State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Olga Pavlova, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on tourism Sergey Ivanov, Director of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Fargat Mukhametov vagizovich, Executive Director of LLC “Journey into the past” Alexey E. Kokurin. They congratulated everyone on this great event and wished the participants of the “battles” good luck and victories, and the audience – a good rest, enjoy the beauty of the local places that are steeped in history.

Then, on the lists, which is located on the Central square of the Bulgarian settlement, began spectacular “fights”. They are held in different categories, such as “5 on 5”, “10 on 10”, “Battle of the yards”, “Competitions”on spears”, “Battle for the banner” , etc. of Particular interest are the cavalry fights, before which equestrian knights show their skill and dexterity in exercises with sword and spear at full gallop.

At the festival there are fairs: historical, folk art crafts, family recreation areas, living history, master classes in medieval crafts, dance, archery, crossbow, knife throwing, folk games, concerts, etc. Also this year opened its work area dedicated to the history of the Golden Horde, with the world’s best reenactors of this era. Everyone can find an interesting activity, including children, which provides for all kinds of competitions, competitions, relay races.

In the evening, all waiting for the fire show “Fire fairy tale”, and August 11, the festival will continue.
