On April 19, 2019, S. V. Krivosheeva, Researcher of the Department of Museum and educational activities of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve, held an event “From runes to Cyrillic” for students of 8 classes of the BULGARIAN sanatorium boarding school.
At this event, the children learned the history of the development of writing, which is directly related to the evolution of human intelligence.
Children were introduced to the subject by letter, pictography, a runic letter, in Arabic script, the Latin and Cyrillic.
In ancient times, subject writing was used to convey the simplest concepts and refer to visual objects or things. The emergence of speech is the main prerequisite for the emergence of writing. After all, as soon as he learned to speak, primitive man faced the need to fix his thoughts or words in order to transmit information to relatives or to preserve the already accumulated knowledge for future generations. In turn, writing has a strong influence on the language itself. It makes it more stable and formalized, as well as expands and strengthens the range of concepts and categories that surround a person in everyday life.
Heard the legend of the ancient Persian king Darius, who went on a campaign to Scythia and received from the rulers of this land a strange message. It included several items – a frog, a bird, a mouse and five arrows. And the guys tried to decipher this message.
